About Tristan
I am an engineer who graduated from the University of Southampton with a Masters degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics. I believe the key to doing well in an exam is understanding the subject rather than memorising sections of a book. This principle got me through GCSEs and A level and believe I could help others do the same to a similar standard to what I was able to achieve.
I found out in my last year of university that I qualify as dyslexic which I believe is what is responsible for my different method of learning. I had no choice but to develop my own way of learning and will try to do this for those who I tutor. I will find out how they best process information and help them tailor their study material to match this.
In my case, it is a very visual process. I work to establish a baseline of understanding consisting primarily of things I already know and what I aim to learn. I then break the information into manageable chunks and then build on the baseline like a lego set. The end result being that while I might not know the answer to a question at first, I know how to find it out.
