About me:

A friendly and passionate tutor with +10 years maths tutoring experience, dedicated to going the extra mile to help learners build exam confidence and improve grades.

I am from the Bishopbriggs area and a former Bishopbriggs Academy student. I have been tutoring mathematics for +10 years, supporting primary and secondary students of all ages, both in-person and online across many parts of Glasgow such as the East Dunbartonshire Area: Bishopbriggs, Lenzie, Kirkintilloch, Bearsden, Milngavie and the Robroyston. Moreover, I have also tutored in areas outside of the East Dunbartonshire Area such as many parts of North Lanarkshire and parts of Glasgow City Council, tutoring pupils in different parts of Glasgow. I can tutor at pupil's home, my own or even online, if distance is an issue. I am more than willing to travel to other parts of Glasgow to provide the support where it is needed.

Teaching Experience

I have also worked in numerous primary and secondary schools across the East Dunbartonshire Area - Bishopbriggs and Kirkintilloch/ Lenzie and North Lanarkshire in the Cumbernauld area. Therefore, I am familiar not only with the curriculum but also with school procedures. This helps to reinforce my tutoring lessons with the teacher's lessons in schools.

Academic Background

My background is in Mathematics and Education. I studied BSc Mathematics at Heriot-Watt University and then graduated with BA Education with a specialism in Numeracy at University of Stirling, which has led me into tutoring mathematics.

Extra about my services - Online Tutoring

Lastly, if distance is an issue, the option for online tutoring is available. My tutoring services come with an integrated online tutoring service. I have organised an online set-up, making tutoring and learning online more accessible, streamlined and easy-to-use. The online lessons are easy to arrange and set-up, I will provide the necessary information and guide you through the set-up, if needs be. The programme I use for online tutoring is easy to setup and free. Student lesson notes will be uploaded daily, homework will be provided, learning progress will be tracked and learning is made easy and convenient.

About the lesson

I adopt a systematic, step-by-step teaching approach, where lessons are structured in a way that makes maths easy to understand. My +10 years of tutoring experience has allowed me to identify areas where pupils commonly have difficulty with and fill in gaps in knowledge. In my lessons, I focus on identifying gaps in knowledge, reinforced with ample practice questions and then progressing to past-paper level questions. I believe that the more you practice, the more confident you will become. This allows pupils to go into exams with confidence.

What will you get out of the lessons?

1. A structured, step-by-step teaching approach so lessons are clear and easy to understand with consistent updates on learner progress.

2. Lessons will cover all maths topics but will prioritise specific areas the pupils have difficulty with or wish to focus on to ensure a strong mathematics foundation.

3. Provide homework & assignment support, guidance with classwork, exam preparation and past-paper practice.

4. Past-paper revision techniques and plenty of exam practice so pupils can feel confident going into the exam.

5. Recommendations of any books and teaching resources for exam practice will be provided.
