About Stefano
I have a year's tutoring experience, teaching GCSE maths to students individually and in groups. All my students went on to achieve higher than their predicted grades, which was truly rewarding ! I love maths and science which led me to study a masters degree in Aerospace Engineering. I achieved first class honours and have since been working as a design engineer. Everyday I use the application of both maths and science to design, simulate and analyse huge subsea umbilical cables which are used at extraordinary depths on the sea bed to power both oil rigs and offshore wind farms !

The way I usually introduce a topic is by giving a real example of where this may be used (application) and why we even need to learn it ! I then introduce the method or theory behind, later going through questions starting from simple to more challenging. The best way of learning, I have found, is to challenge my students in doing all they can by themselves. My active role is giving them the tools and then guiding them in the right direction. Not only does this help them become self reliant , it boosts their confidence and gives them valuable problem solving skills, to even apply outside of maths and science !
