About Rachel
Many students feel that their final year project, research project, or IB assignment "isn't quite working," but they can't quite figure out why. After more than 20 years of teaching at the university and high school levels, I've found that the problem is rarely a lack of intelligence or effort. Most of the time, the block arises because the project has lost coherence, focus, or direction. My specialty is seeing projects holistically and quickly identifying what's failing and what's superfluous. I help students narrow down their research questions, reformulate objectives, build solid hypotheses, detect methodological inconsistencies, differentiate between what's important and what's secondary, transform a theoretical framework into something truly useful, and find a clear and defensible structure for their work. Often, students accumulate information, articles, and feedback from their supervisor, but they can't integrate it all into a coherent line of reasoning. That's where I add the most value: helping them organize their ideas, eliminate "noise," prioritize, make decisions, and build a realistic roadmap to move forward without getting lost. I also support longer supervision and follow-up processes: reviewing drafts, scientific writing, bibliographic organization, deadline planning, building theoretical frameworks, preparing oral defenses, and learning academic methodology. However, I believe it's important to differentiate between these two phases: identifying the core of the problem and getting the project moving again is one thing; supporting the entire subsequent development is quite another. I have a background in Computational Linguistics (UB), Neuropsychology and Behavioral Neurology (UAB), education, and scientific writing (Stanford University). I have contributed as an editor to more than 20 scientific publications, published my own research, and advised over 100 research projects for high school and IB students, as well as undergraduate theses, master's theses, and doctoral dissertations. I am passionate about science, teaching, and solving complex problems. I work online in Spanish, Catalan, scientific English, and Italian. Important: I do not do work for students. My goal is to give you the tools to learn how to think, structure, and defend your own project with sound judgment and confidence. The idea is not that you depend on me forever, but precisely the opposite: that at the end of the process you feel that the work is truly yours, understand what you are doing, and can move forward autonomously.

Many students feel their final year project or thesis "just isn't working," but they don't understand why. In one or two sessions, I usually pinpoint the exact problem: misaligned objectives, inconsistent methodology, weak hypotheses, a confusing structure, or weak argumentation. I have a background in neuropsychology, research, and scientific writing (Stanford University), as well as teaching and academic experience. I work in Spanish, English, Catalan, and Italian. I don't do the work for the student. My goal is to teach them how to think, structure, and communicate more effectively so that their projects achieve genuine academic quality.
