About Jan

I'm in Mexico City for over 3 years now. And I discovered soon that the English of most Mexicans is ... to put it blunt ... terrible. That made me decide to help some friends out with English and at the same time I became a volunteer at the local library for helping people with English. In the beginning the practicing conversations were just with 1-2 people at the same time. The conversation group has now grown to a point where my regular group is well over 10 people. I'm at the point now to split the group in 2 to be able to give people the personal attention they need. My students are very diverse in level, some still go to school while others got a good job at a big international company. But after some weeks they say that they feel more secure about speaking in English, it might not be perfect. But they can say what they want or what they need and that they get their point across.

About the lesson

Talk talk talk ... grammar is nothing if you can not express yourself. I'm here to talk with you about anything you want and to make you feel more sure about yourself by speaking in English. I think that the most important thing is to get your point across, so people will understand you. In time you will learn the details of grammar and how to make the words work for you. And I'm here to help you with the journey to speak better English.
