About Eric Yin
Music has been my passion since I was six, leading me on an incredible journey filled with performances, competitions, and eye-opening experiences.
Choosing music in university opened doors to performances across Europe with Collegium Musicum Hong Kong, where I discovered the rich tapestry of cultures. My exchange program in Berlin during my BA studies fueled my desire to study abroad after graduation from Hong Kong. Thanks to a scholarship, I found myself at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, soaking in professional education and mingling with top musicians worldwide.
Three years ago, I made the move to Edinburgh, where I’ve continued my music career through teaching, gigs, and now as the associate conductor at Edinburgh Mandolin and Guitar Ensemble. Living and studying abroad has given me a unique perspective on Western and Eastern lifestyles, and I’m loving every moment of life and work here in UK!

With a Master’s degree in Music (MMus) from Manhattan School of Music and over 15 years of teaching experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to students of all ages and backgrounds. Having instructed learners from various countries, I understand the importance of adapting teaching styles to match individual needs, especially considering the nuanced differences between Asian and UK learning styles.
Additionally, as a current classical guitar performer in the UK, both solo and ensemble, and as the associate conductor in Edinburgh Mandolin and Guitar Ensemble, I offer professional insights into live performances and stage presence.
