About Faith

I am a Physics tutor with over 4 years of experience and an MPhys, specialising in biophysics and the physics of living systems. My teaching focuses on making complex biological phenomena understandable through the lens of physics. I guide students in exploring molecular motors, membrane transport, nerve impulses, and biomechanics. I work closely with biology students, pre-med students, and anyone curious about the physical principles underlying life. My approach combines clear explanations with real-world examples to show how physics shapes biological systems. I encourage active learning through problem-solving, discussion, and practical applications. Students gain confidence in connecting abstract physics concepts to concrete biological processes. I emphasise the importance of quantitative reasoning in understanding life at molecular and cellular levels. Assignments and exercises are tailored to reinforce both theory and application. I strive to make challenging topics approachable and engaging. Together, we explore how energy, forces, and motion operate within living systems. My sessions help students excel academically and develop a deeper appreciation for the subject. Teaching biophysics is not just about equations—it’s about uncovering the hidden mechanics of life. There is real joy in applying physics to reveal the intricate workings of biological systems.

My teaching approach in physics is relaxed, interactive, and application-focused. I focus on making complex concepts easy to understand and directly relevant to engineering. I cover a wide range of topics, including classical mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, materials science, statics, dynamics in structures, and electromagnetism. I emphasise problem-solving through real-world engineering examples. I guide students in understanding how physics principles apply to practical designs and engineering challenges. Together, we explore computational methods and simulations to strengthen conceptual understanding. I encourage active participation, asking questions, and working through problems step by step. Assignments and exercises are designed to reinforce theory with practical application. I pay special attention to areas like material behaviour under stress, fluid flow in pipes, and dynamics of mechanical structures. My goal is to connect classroom physics to real engineering projects. Students gain confidence in analysing and solving problems efficiently. I also help in preparing for exams and understanding difficult concepts thoroughly. By focusing on practical applications, I make physics relevant to your career goals. Every session is tailored to ensure students excel and build strong, lasting understanding.
