My approach to tutoring is very personalized, and lessons are adapted depending on the student’s learning style.
For mathematics, I believe active practice is very important. I work through problems with students and will create additional practice questions when needed for difficult concepts. When a student gets stuck, I use hints to help them work toward the answer themselves before showing them how to solve it. I find this helps build confidence.
When a concept is particularly difficult, I will plan a more in-depth lesson on that select topic for the following session.
I teach online through Microsoft Teams and use Canva to create visual explanations, diagrams, and examples. A typical session is one-hour.
For high school students and below, I can teach all math subjects. At the university level, I teach first year calculus and linear algebra.
