About Ángela
Learning and teaching music, especially piano, has always been my calling.
After finishing my studies at the Conservatory, I continued to study on my own, while playing in different musical groups. Over the years, I have also given many private lessons to children on piano or subjects they needed help with (Musical Language, Rhythm, Intonation, Harmony, Musical Analysis, Dictation...). I have also prepared children for the entrance exams to the conservatory (Elementary and Professional level).
I have worked as a music and piano teacher for more than 2 academic years in official music schools, and I have trained in the active pedagogical methods of Willems, Gordon and Dalcroze. I have taught everything from music for babies to musical initiation (listening, rhythm, songs, improv...) through individual piano and music language and harmony groups, at all learning levels.
I am also a child and adolescent psychologist, recently graduated as a music therapist, which has brought me closer to a new vision of music and teaching. I have worked with groups such as TEA, ADHD or Asperger's and I have training to work with these populations.
I consider myself an energetic, sociable person, with initiative and charisma, and I like to be responsible and do things well. I have skills in managing stress and groups. I invest a lot of effort and motivation in the things I do, and seeing my students enjoy their musical discoveries and progress makes me enjoy it too. Needless to say, the classes would be prepared in detail in advance, following the line of work adapted to each student. Even so, depending on the students and their needs, they could be adapted and leave some room for improvisation.

My professional training taught me the importance of technique and effort; but also that motivation, support and, above all, fun and enjoyment, are even more necessary to immerse oneself in the musical experience in a healthy and proactive way, which should always stay away from hostile and competitive environments.
I've got classical training background; however, my classes focus on active pedagogical methods, such as Willems, Gordon or Dalcroze. I have taught everything from music for babies to musical initiation - listening, rhythm, songs, impro... - through individual piano and music language and harmony groups, at all learning levels.
These methods propose that musical education should be given in a multidimensional way to children, at 3 levels: sensorial, affective and cognitive. I find it esential to place the child's development as an axis to develop musical education, and to give importance to hearing and musical hearing to stimulate the rhythmic instinct of the students. All this, accompanied by a correct technical exercise of the instrument, makes the student progress a lot while enjoying music! :)
As a teacher and music therapist, I like to enjoy (and of course, learn) while I teach and share my knowledge. For me, the ideal teaching method would be one that places, whenever possible, the student/teacher in a horizontal and bidirectional relationship, in which both contribute and learn. I try to avoid hierarchies in which the teacher speaks and the student listens passively. I am also a psychologist and have more than 2 years of demonstrable experience in working with children. I consider that I get along very well with children and, in addition to enjoying myself, I always end up learning something new from them.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
