About Efrén
Throughout my career I have tried to combine my two passions (cinema and philosophy) in different occasions. Perhaps the most relevant among them was creating and teaching the course 'Modernity and its Problems in Cinema' in the Postgraduate Degree in Humanities programme at the University of Valencia. I have also published articles on philosophy and cinema, coordinated cinema seasons in academic environments and designed thematic panels for one of the most important bookstores in Spain.

The course will deal with different ways of expressing ideas and philosophical problems in audiovisual format. The structure of our sessions, as well as the selection of contents, will be adapted to the students' interests and level of knowledge. In any case, these lessons will be focused on reflecting about the questions and approaches proposed by selected cinematic works and their relationship with the basic tenets of different schools of philosophical thought.
