About Emil

Graduate Professor of TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) I started teaching in 2016 and since then I taught in several countries: Denmark, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia. I have experience teaching in language institutes and primary schools with groups and tutoring. I also volunteered in places that needed support around Latin America. Now I am living here in Cali giving private lessons. My first two months here, I taught English to salsa dancers but now I want to teach everyone who wants clases. My motivation: In my travels I used English teaching as a key to find different people and cultures. In addition to the classes in institutes of the cities, I gave classes to the children of an indegenous tribe in the Ecuadorian Amazon and also the Quechau people of the Andes of Peru. I learned a lot from that cultural exchange and I became more patient as a teacher too. That is why teaching English has become a passion and a tool to meet people throughout the world and learn from different cultures than my own. You will feel my patience and my passion for teaching English in our classes together. I also hope that you as my student have a passion to use your recent acquired knowledge that you will learn with me to communicate with people and cultures other than your own and therefore expanding your horizon. About the lesson

Hello and nice to meet you! I am a native English teacher from the United States. I have experience teaching English to students of all levels and ages in various countries and places around the world. All ages and all levels (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2) All the objectives and needs you want: exam preparation, academic English, business English, communicative English, English for your children, travel preparation , school support, etc. My methodology is very simple. I like to apply the communicative approach that focuses on the English language as spoken in everyday life. That is why the most important is that the student achieves a level where he can communicate comfortably and with confidence. And how will you achieve that level? With levels B1-C2 I will teach exclusively in English because the theory of the communicative approach states that the student will advance faster this way. With level A1 and A2 we will discuss grammar in Spanish but we also try to communicate in English. Feel free to contact me about any questions you may have.
