About Tim
I am a native of American English. I have a university diploma in philosophy, and a TEFL certificate (Teach English as a Foreign Language). After receiving my TEFL, I taught students from grades 7 to 11 in Colombia for 2 years. Then I went to China to give university classes for two semesters. I love learning languages and helping others achieve their learning goals. I am very patient, and I understand how difficult it is to learn a language, and I am looking for the best way to teach so that my students can advance in English.

My teaching method is to use communicative activities in order to grow vocabulary and the ability to apply grammar in everyday situations. The student and I work with activities of speaking, listening, reading, and writing, in order to have a good aptitude in the four. I use daily videos and texts a lot (scenes from movies, newspapers, advertisements, etc.) to practice oral and written comprehension, and thus develop the ability to express themselves in the language. With each student, I use the minimum of Spanish necessary to explain the material, so that the student grows his ability to communicate in English without stress or pressure.
