About Angelina

Hi! I’m Angelina, a native Mandarin speaker from mainland China. I’m currently a uni student at LSE and am completing my placement year in the UK.

Outside of my studies, I enjoy sports and exploring new places. I’m a certified scuba diver, love surfing, used to play football, and also enjoy playing the piano and listening to music. These hobbies give me plenty of interesting topics to chat about during our lessons.

I decided to become a tutor because I genuinely enjoy meeting people from different cultures and seeing how language brings people together. It’s always fascinating to learn about different perspectives while sharing my own culture. Teaching Mandarin allows me to help others discover not only the language but also Chinese traditions, everyday life, and the diversity of different regions. I hope every lesson is relaxed, enjoyable, and leaves you feeling more confident than before.

About the lesson

I believe the best way to learn a language is through lessons that match your interests and goals. Whether you’re a complete beginner or already have some experience with Mandarin, I’m happy to adapt my teaching to your level.

If you enjoy learning through conversation, we can talk about topics that interest you, such as Chinese culture, geography, travel, food, sports, or daily life. Having travelled to almost every province in China, I’d also be happy to share my personal experiences and introduce you to different regions and local cultures.

If you prefer a more structured approach, we can follow a textbook and work on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, and writing step by step. Whether you’re learning Chinese for travel, work, exams, or simply for fun, I’ll tailor each lesson to your needs and help you build confidence at your own pace.
