About Tobias
I'm studying to become a primary school teacher at the CHE (PABO). I was raised bilingually: I am fluent in British English and in Dutch. I enjoy reading (English) books and watching (English) films. I'd like to share my enthusiasm for the English language with my students by working on the language both informally and theoretically.
As a teacher in training I have taught children from group 3-8 English; My supervisors have encouraged me by telling me that I'm good at helping the children pick up the English language.

I like to adapt my lessons to the student's abilities and goals: by understanding what the student wants to be able to do we can focus on either more formal, written English or more informal communication. My lessons focus mainly on comprehension: being able to understand what is being said as well as knowing how to respond.
I think it's very important to keep the lessons enjoyable. When appropriate, I like to play an English language game in which the student is actively drawn into the language without really realising.
