Super Tutor

Laoise is one of our best English tutors. High-quality profile and excellent qualifications, organised and responsive to lesson requests, appreciated by their students!

About Laoise

Hi there! My name is Laoise, and I'm from Dublin, Ireland. I love languages and have spent most of my life learning them. In 2020 I became a private tutor for Japanese, and then got my diploma in English teaching. Since I began, I love teaching more and more every day - it makes me so happy to see people reach their goals. I have also worked as an actor and drama teacher for many years, so I can assure you that I will make our classes fun and engaging for you!

About the lesson

I'm here to support you, and so can help you with whatever you're feeling unsure about. I can most efficiently work with you if you give me as much information as possible about yourself: what level your English is, what you like/dislike about learning English, what you feel confident/unsure about, and why you want to learn English (this is particularly important, so we can figure out fun ways for you to improve, rather than just learning off lists of vocab and grammar!). I am a native English speaker, but I also speak advanced Japanese, and intermediate Spanish (while also currently learning Turkish as a beginner!) so I have extensive experience as a language learner: being in exactly the position you are in. I understand all the challenges and rewards of learning a new language!

Laoise was an extremely nice and helpful tutor. Helped out a lot for Leaving Cert Japanese, classes were very productive and she was able to improve my speaking skills massively. She made me learn from my mistakes and brought me to a whole new level of proficiency. I highly recommend her as a teacher :)

Laoise has a huge amount of knowledge about Japan and Japanese, which really helps in our lessons: she can tell me about the context and nuances of phrases that we learn so that I'm able to remember them and use them properly. I passed my JLPT N4 exam last December thanks to her. I'd highly recommend her!

Laoise is one of the best English tutors I've had. She is patient with me when I make mistakes or don't understand something, and she has helped my business English a lot (practicing for interviews, making CVs, etc.). We have also studied Hiberno-English together, which made it much easier for me to settle into life in Ireland.
