About Kundurthi

I am Kundurthi Venkatesh, a Psychiatric Social Worker and Mental Health Professional trained at NIMHANS National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bengaluru India's most respected and premier mental health institution. I hold an M.Phil. in Psychiatric Social Work with First Class distinction and have recently submitted my Ph.D., with research focused on peer support group interventions for persons with mental illness a study that has resulted in published work in international Scopus-indexed journals.
Over the past 7 years at NIMHANS I have worked directly with individuals, families, and communities dealing with a wide range of mental health challenges from depression and anxiety to schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, addiction, and rehabilitation. This deep clinical exposure is what I bring into my teaching making every concept come alive with real meaning and practical understanding rather than staying only on the surface of theory.
Before my research career at NIMHANS I also worked as a Lecturer teaching postgraduate social work students so I understand both the clinical world and the academic world well. I know what students struggle with, where concepts get confusing, and how to explain things in a way that genuinely makes sense.
I am patient, approachable, and genuinely passionate about both mental health and education. Teaching for me is not just about covering syllabus it is about helping you truly understand and feel confident in what you are learning.
I speak Telugu, English, Kannada, and basic Hindi so we can connect comfortably in whichever language works best for you.

About the lesson

My classes are practical, engaging, and tailored to your specific needs whether you are a psychology student wanting to understand human behaviour, mental health, and counselling theories at a deeper level, or someone preparing for competitive exams, or a social work student navigating complex theories and field practice.
For psychology students I cover fundamentals of psychology, abnormal psychology, clinical psychology, counselling theories, human development, personality theories, mental health disorders, and research methodology explained with real clinical examples from my 7+ years of practice at NIMHANS, India's premier mental health institution. You don't just learn from textbooks you learn how these concepts actually apply in real life clinical settings, which makes them far easier to understand, remember, and apply in exams.
For those preparing for UGC NET Social Work I provide structured coaching covering all key units, important concepts, previous year paper analysis, and exam strategy that helps you approach the paper with confidence. For MSW and BSW students I help with course subjects, assignments, dissertation guidance, research methodology, and field work related topics in a way that connects theory to actual practice.
I bring genuine patience, a simple teaching style, and personalised attention to every student. No two students are the same so I first understand where you are struggling and then build the session around exactly that.
Sessions are conducted online via Google Meet or Zoom with flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends to suit your timetable. Whether you have an exam next week or want to build your knowledge steadily over time, I am here to guide you every step of the way.
