About Paul

Hi there! My name is Paul and I am a Primary school teacher currently teaching a wonderful Year 5 class in a lovely school outside of Nottingham. I am recently married and have a beautiful, but bonkers 5-year-old Weimaraner called Winnie (yes, named after Winnie the Pooh) that keeps me active and I spend all of my spare money on treats for her. I play the drums and often annoy my wife by tapping on tables. I watch Aston Villa when I can - if they're good enough for Prince William, they're good enough for me! - and I love holidays in hot places and spicy food. My main aim on this platform is to make you believe you are so much better than you think you are in maths! If you feel like I felt when I was at school about maths being horrible, hard and just a struggle...please do not. It is a wonderful language (yes, you heard me right, LANGUAGE) that once understood can make the impossible seem possible. Take a punt with me. You will have a wonderful time learning hidden tricks and secrets to making maths more enjoyable. And don't forget... ...tutoring isn't like school. It's a gateway to unlocking your potential.

About the lesson

Learning mathematics for some is tough - I knew this to be a 'truth' in my school days. However, I have realised that the key is to find ways to make maths relevant and to make sense of what numbers mean. Whether face-to-face or online, my aim is to make you feel more confident in this subject. Specialising in Key Stage 2, but can accommodate any age, I will give you handy ways to make maths seem easier, focusing on your areas of need to upskill you. Being a school mathematics co-ordinator for 7 years, I have a strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum and have improved outcomes and confidence for hundreds of children. I am so proud of this, considering how daunting the subject was to me in my early years. Whether you are looking for more confidence when tackling arithmetic, having more SATs practice or simply finding ways to remember multiplications with more precision, please consider me to be the tutor for you. You will be amazed at what you can achieve in an hour!

He explained things brilliantly and I now have great amount of knowledge in all subjects but especially maths, and it was all down to working with him.
