About Mirza
I'm an NYC teacher who enjoys working with students and helping them feel comfortable and confident while learning. Outside of teaching, I'm a big sports fan and enjoy staying active and playing sports whenever I can. I'm also a dog owner, a pizza lover, and a big fan of The Sopranos.
I try to bring my personality and interests into my teaching because I believe students learn better when they can relate to their teacher. I'm easygoing, patient, and enjoy getting to know what each student is interested in so I can make learning feel more personal and engaging.

I provide personalized tutoring for elementary and middle school students in reading, writing, math, and general academic support. As an experienced NYC public school teacher with two master’s degrees in education, I understand that every student learns differently. My lessons are structured around each student’s individual needs, strengths, and areas for growth.
I focus on making learning clear, engaging, and manageable. A typical session may include reviewing previous skills, direct instruction, guided practice, independent practice, and homework or test preparation. I can also help students strengthen organization, study habits, and confidence in the classroom.
My goal is not only to help students complete their work, but to help them understand what they are learning and become more independent and confident students.
