About Elisabeth

My name is Elisabeth. I grew up in Hong Kong and recently moved to the UK to complete my higher education. During my time in Hong Kong, I completed my IGCSEs and gained valuable experience working with young children helping them with their homework while incorporating engaging activities to ensure they stayed focused and motivated.

I completed my A-Levels, where I achieved predicted grades of AAB in my chosen subjects (A in History, A in Sociology, and B in Psychology) taking AQA exam boards for each of my subjects, however I am able to adapt to any exam board that I am presented. Psychology was by far my favourite subject, as I have always been fascinated by understanding human behaviour. This passion has inspired me to study Psychology at university in the future.

I am currently taking a gap year, which means I have excellent flexibility to provide online tutoring for these subjects. My main goal is to make a positive impact on your educational journey by keeping our sessions engaging, supportive, and focused on helping you excel, while encouraging and praising your journey.

About the lesson

As your tutor, I focus on active recall and ensuring you truly understand the material we study. I prioritise helping students understand both the breadth and depth of content required to achieve top marks in any essay, utilising effective active recall strategies like collaborative mind-mapping. Maintaining a supportive atmosphere where students are comfortable to ask questions which will lead them to having a full understanding.

Moreover, I will help you perfect the specific essay structures needed to reach the highest marking bands. I provide expert tutoring for essay-based subjects, including:

A-Level: History (specialising but not limited to the Tudors and the Cold War), Sociology, and Psychology

GCSE / IGCSE: History

I have experience teaching young children and supporting them with their homework. Furthermore, I have experience with A-Level students to understand complex historical content and essay structures which help to achieve full marks.

I do online tutoring sessions that are based on Zoom, that span for 1 hour to 1 hour and a half.
