About Shilpa
I have been learning Indian vocal music for over 20 years and have been teaching for nearly 6 years. I have had the privilege of learning from respected musicians including Abdul Mannan, Late Apratim Sen, and I am currently training under Subhankar Bhaskar. I am an Akashvani Kolkata B-High graded artist and have also performed on DD Bangla. I am a Life Member of Manna Dey Sangeet Academy and a scholar of Allahabad Sangeet Sammilani. I am passionate about sharing the beauty and depth of Indian music with learners of all ages and from around the world. My teaching approach is patient, structured and encouraging, with a strong focus on musical fundamentals, voice development and individual expression.

My classes are designed for beginners to intermediate learners who want to learn Indian vocal music in a friendly, structured and enjoyable way. I teach Indian Classical Music, Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti, Bengali Modern Songs, Bhajan and devotional songs, along with voice culture, sur, taal and basic music fundamentals. Each class is personalized according to the student's age, level, goals and learning pace. I focus on building a strong foundation, improving voice quality and confidence, and helping students enjoy and express themselves through music. Classes are conducted live online with individual attention and regular guidance.
