About Mary

I am a current year 12 at MacRob and have completed both 1/2 English and Literature. I have experience tutoring primary english and providing advice to essays and pieces of all levels. A bit about me: well to me writing is my medium for expression, I personally love creative writing in particular poetry (I would love to share my pieces if that interests you!). I’m also a bit of theatre kid and love my ukulele as well as my 3 year old lab (who’s named mozzarella by the way). I love reading and am always eager for new recommendations.

About the lesson

Hi I’m Mary and to me english is more than just a subject; it is a means of expression and the celebration of the articulated version of the storm of one’s thoughts. For me, I personally found the approach to the subject english particularly daunting in that every student is different and experiences a different journey to exploring the subject. I believe the foundation years of learning english as a subject is so important to the development of strong, confident skills in the later years.

I tailor my tutoring to students to suit their own individual needs and passions such as creative writing or analysis essay structure.

My method of tutoring is fully planning the lesson in advance to support the student in the best way possible and make the most of our session.

I will familiarise myself with all school set texts and any form of literature that a student wants to explore and provide notes and materials to aid your work. I am also willing to correct and provide advice on essays/pieces to help you reach the best of your abilities.

Also, my number and messages are always open for questions at any time. I am passionate about this subject and would love to help you through your journey :)
