My methodology varies depending on the individual: Initially, I engage in a casual conversation with the student with the purpose of understanding their knowledge, strengths, and weaknesses on the topic of discussion. Then, based upon the provided information, I try to formulate the best way possible to help them start from what they know towards what they wish to know.
Teaching Philosophy: I honestly believe that anyone can learn Math if he/she puts in the right amount of hard work along with the right guidance.
My passion for teaching Math sprung from helping my sibling during his 10th-grade final exams back in India. This continued during the time I was doing my undergrad. For almost 6 semesters, I scored the maximum marks for Math (University level Calculus and Geometry) in my department and would help my friends by teaching them concepts for completing assignments as well as for exam preparation.
Now, I have taken this passion for teaching to other areas as well:
1. I volunteered to teach Grade 5 Maths to underprivileged as part of the Teach for India initiative back in India.
2. I teach Chess to undergrads here at the University of Toronto Chess Club.
