About Folake

I am a passionate educator who enjoys impacting knowledge and helping students grow in confidence and understanding. My interest in teaching began with my love for working with teenagers and supporting students both academically and personally.

Over time, I discovered that many students struggle not because they are incapable, but because they need patience, guidance, encouragement, and the right teaching approach.

As an educator with experience in English, Beginner Maths, History, Government and Civic Education, I enjoy simplifying difficult concepts and creating an engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, expressing themselves and learning at their own pace.

My teaching approach is student-centred and practical. I use storytelling, real-life examples, discussions and activities to make lessons easier to understand and more meaningful.

I teach because I believe education is powerful. I want to help students become better communicators, critical thinkers and confident learners who can discover their potential, improve academically and become better prepared for life.

WHY STUDENTS SHOULD LEARN WITH ME

I am a passionate and experienced classroom educator with expertise in English, Beginner Maths, History, Government and Civic Education. I am passionate about impacting knowledge and helping students grow academically, personally and confidently.

Although I am newly venturing into online tutoring, I bring valuable classroom teaching experience and a genuine understanding of how to work with different types of learners. My experience has taught me that every student learns differently, and with patience, encouragement and the right approach, students can make meaningful progress.

My teaching style is student-centred, interactive and practical. I simplify difficult concepts and use storytelling, discussions, exercises and relatable real-life examples to make learning easier and more enjoyable.

Beyond academics, I believe students should also develop confidence, discipline, communication skills and positive values. I particularly enjoy working with children and teenagers and creating an environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, expressing themselves and learning from their mistakes.

Details

My online tutoring fee is ₦₦5,000- 8,000 per hour, depending on the student’s level, subject, learning needs and lesson frequency. For physical/home lessons, transportation costs may apply depending on the student’s location and distance. Fees may also vary for intensive exam preparation or specialised support.

Home lessons attract a fixed transportation fee of ₦1,500 per lesson for locations within my service area (up to 5 km).
