About Amala
I am a microbiology scientist by profession and a passionate teacher. I have a PhD in Chemical Engineering and have spent ten years researching pathogenesis mechanisms in bacteria and developing novel drugs to target them. I spent five years doing postdoctoral research at Seattle Children's Research Institute. My true passion and career interests lie in teaching and I have mentored several undergraduate and high school students in my research tenure in research strategy, scientific communication skills, and fundamentals of microbiology and biochemistry. Owing to my multidisciplinary background, I am also open to teaching biotechnology, chemistry, and molecular biology. I am ready to take on a full-time career in teaching and share my knowledge and relevant experience with budding professionals of the future!
