About Ruby
I am a singing tutor with over 6 years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Music, with a focus on voice. I provide personalised lessons for students of all levels, from school and college learners to adults and professionals. My teaching covers classical, pop, movie, and folk singing, helping students explore a wide range of styles. I emphasise ear training, harmony, improvisation, and music theory to build well-rounded vocal skills. My lessons focus on safe vocal techniques while nurturing each student’s unique voice. I work closely with learners to develop vocal confidence, stage presence, and expressive interpretation. Each session is interactive, supportive, and tailored to individual goals. I break down challenging pieces into achievable steps and celebrate progress along the way. I encourage creativity, musical curiosity, and consistent practice habits. My approach combines technical skill-building with musical enjoyment. I believe that every voice has its own story, and I help students express it fully. My singing approach focuses on helping students build strong technique and prepare for auditions or create a versatile vocal portfolio. I guide The Music Major and Suzuki Student personas through careful song selection to showcase their strengths. Vocal tone matching and controlled dynamics are key components of every lesson. Each student benefits from vocal agility exercises to improve flexibility and range. Mock auditions help build confidence and performance readiness. I encourage exploring multiple genres to develop versatility and musical expression. Backing track apps, lyric trainers, and pitch analysers are incorporated to make practice practical and effective. Lessons are personalised to each student’s goals, emphasising consistent technique, musicality, and stylistic understanding. Students learn to control breath, phrasing, and resonance while staying expressive. I also provide strategies for memorisation and stage presence. By blending structured exercises with creative exploration, students gain the skills to excel in auditions and develop a strong, adaptable voice. My goal is to make learning engaging, effective, and inspiring.
