About Will
I hold a Physics degree from the University of Warwick (grad. 2017), but I also love maths. Whilst at sixth form I taught voluntarily during lunchtimes, as this was good preparation for my A level and Higher Education exams. I have a solid understanding of a range of topics and achieved A*AA (Maths, Further Maths, Physics).
Since university I have taught skiing around the world (Switzerland, Japan, Australia, South Korea) in professional, respected schools, and found teaching to be an incredibly fulfilling enterprise. My consistent feedback includes:

- Makes the effort to build relationships and give individual, personalised feedback
- Can-do attitude. No job too small.
Clearly this is a break from teaching academic content, but I believe the basic principles of teaching are transferrable: understanding, patience, proficiency. Enjoying teaching is what makes a good teacher. My experience particularly lends itself to working through existing problems that the student has, rather than setting out new curriculum, but I endeavour to stay flexible and open-minded.

My teaching method is based around the student. I listen to the students problems, and we work through them together. I am frequently complimented on my patience and empathy especially with less confident students, and always choose to employ positive reinforcement during lesson time.
My teaching style generally focusses on the method and not the answer - asking "why" and "how" are we doing this. This encourages reproducible, deeper understanding which lays good foundation for future work.
As such, my lessons are structured and methodical. We think of different ways to understand a concept or problem before we tackle it, and I incorporate exercises/discussion that build student confidence at the end of a lesson:
"Could you recap what you learnt today?"
"Could you explain to me how I would solve this?"
"How is this (A) different to that (B)?"

Will is an excellent teacher, very patient and can explain techniques in loads of different ways to help you understand, he makes you feel safe and comfortable on the slopes. He also has loads of experience from different seasons! I would highly recommend him to anyone at any level of skiing.
Will has really helped me to be a more confident skier. .. he's a very patient, respectful and knowledgeable instructor. I really like his clever teaching techniques and I would definitely like to further develop my skiing through his coaching in the future.
