About Bridgett

Hi, I’m Bridgett! I’m a former elementary school teacher with a Master’s in Education and a genuine love for working with children and language learners. Helping students feel confident, supported, and excited about learning is at the heart of everything I do. With my background in elementary education, I understand how important patience, encouragement, and clear explanations are, especially when learning a new language. I create a calm, welcoming learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing at their own pace. My teaching style is friendly, structured, and student-centered. I enjoy turning lessons into positive experiences by using simple explanations, engaging activities, and real-life examples that make learning meaningful. I believe every child can succeed when they feel understood and supported. Parents can feel confident knowing their child is learning with someone who is caring, reliable, and committed to their progress. My goal is to help each student build strong skills, confidence, and a positive attitude toward learning.

As an ESL tutor, my goal is to help students feel confident, supported, and comfortable using English in everyday situations. With a background as a former elementary school teacher and a Master’s in Education, I understand how to break language learning into simple, manageable steps that feel encouraging rather than overwhelming.

My Teaching Method & Techniques

I use a student-centered, supportive teaching approach that focuses on real communication and understanding. Lessons are interactive and engaging, with a mix of speaking, listening, reading, and writing practice. I use visuals, repetition, games, and real-life examples to help students build vocabulary and improve pronunciation naturally. I adjust my teaching style to match each learner’s level, pace, and learning style.

A Typical Lesson Plan

Each lesson is structured but flexible and usually includes:

A friendly warm-up conversation or review

Introduction of new vocabulary or language concepts

Guided practice through activities, games, or short conversations

A quick recap and encouragement to use new skills outside the lesson
