About Ivan
I've been tutoring maths for over 20 years, working with hundreds of students — from young children learning their first numbers through to lower secondary students building a solid foundation.
My approach is simple: I meet every student where they are. I'm patient, encouraging, and I genuinely enjoy that moment when a student finally says "Oh, I get it now!"

How I teach:
I don't just show how to solve a problem and move on. I guide the student step by step, asking questions along the way so they develop real understanding — not just memorisation. I use visual explanations, plenty of worked examples, and practice problems that gradually increase in difficulty. When a student gets stuck, I break the concept down in a different way until it clicks.
A typical session lasts 60 minutes. We start with a quick review of what we covered last time, move into the main topic, work through problems together, and finish with a short recap.
My lessons cover:
Primary (Year 1–6) — number sense, fractions, decimals, geometry basics
Lower Secondary (Year 7–10) — algebra, equations, graphing, ratios, NAPLAN preparation
All lessons are online via Google Meet using screen sharing and a digital whiteboard.
First lesson is free — so we can get to know each other and see if we're a good fit before any commitment.
