About Katie
I am a working professional who loves to help people. Learning is such a wonderful way to explore the world and I'd love to be a part of your learning journey.
I have a master's in neuroscience from Mayo Clinic as well as a BS in behavioral neuroscience and BA in psychology from the University of Kansas.
I tutored all four years in college (specializing in math, psychology, and elementary German) and worked part-time as a math instructor in graduate school.
I have a corgi named Chloe, and we love to hike in the mountains. I also spend my free time swimming, climbing, skiing, and backpacking.

I enjoy tutoring and helping students understand challenging material. I often have students tell me that their anxieties about a subject have gone down after working with me and even look forward to our sessions together.
I create a safe and judgement-free environment. This helps me to determine what my students actually understand about a subject because they don't feel the need to try to impress me and are more open about their own understanding of the material. I then create a solid foundation from which to build upon.
I believe that foundational understanding in a subject is key and it helps to prevent problems and bad habits from forming. This also helps create confidence in the student while at the same time lowering anxieties.
