About Ioana

Hello, I’m Ioana — an engineering graduate and PGCE-qualified teacher (Further Education, 2020) with experience teaching and tutoring Maths from primary level through KS3, GCSE, A-Level and further education. I’m calm, patient and highly structured, and I focus on helping students understand concepts clearly so they feel confident and independent. I adapt my teaching to each learner, including students who feel anxious or need extra support, and I set clear targets so progress is visible and measurable. My goal is to make Maths feel manageable, improve results, and help students genuinely believe they can succeed.

About the lesson

My Maths lessons are friendly, structured and focused on real progress. I help students understand why a method works, not just memorise steps—so they gain confidence and can solve questions independently.

I’m an engineering graduate with a PGCE in Further Education (2020), and I teach students from primary level through KS3, GCSE, A-Level and further education. Lessons are typically 60 minutes and are tailored to each student’s starting point and goals (catch-up, confidence building, or exam preparation). Each session includes a short diagnostic check, clear step-by-step teaching, guided practice, and exam-style questions with feedback on common mistakes.

I use digital teaching tools (including a drawing tablet) to explain concepts clearly in a “whiteboard-style” format, and I track progress and targets so parents and students can see consistent improvement over time. My aim is simple: make Maths feel manageable, build confidence, and deliver results.
