I have three years of experience in supervising the research work of final year undergraduates and masters students. I have taught and assessed undergraduate first year chemistry labs for four years. I am a PhD student at Durham University in the area of Chemical Biology. I have four years experience in teaching undergraduate first year chemistry labs. I have an in-depth theoretical and practical understanding of organic chemistry. I can help with understanding mechanisms and retrosynthetic steps for the synthesis of a compound. I am also an expert in Biochemistry; I have a first class degree in Biochemistry (University of East Anglia) and during the course of my PhD have utilised a lot of experimental techniques in the area of Biochemistry to successfully achieve the aims of my research work. In addition I am very knowledgeable in the areas of molecular and cell Biology. My teaching approach involves discussions to test the understanding of the student in a given area and setting exercises can help the progression of the students understanding from one stage to the next. The more questions you ask the more you learn.
