About Alison

I have a Master's Degree in Applied Physics at the Colorado School of Mines. I also have a Bachelor's in Engineering Physics from CSM. With my physics background, I understand that math is more than just computation. It can be visualized and applied to the real world. I can teach you the why instead of just memorizing steps for solving the problem.

About the lesson

I am a patient and knowledgeable tutor who works at your pace. I use examples, pictures, and other visual aids to cater to your learning style. With my guidance, you will reach the answer yourself, ensuring a deeper understanding of the material. I provide tips and tricks to check if your answer makes sense and boost your confidence on the exam.
And, yes, I can show you that math actually is important in real life!

Review

All of our reviews are collected by us and are 100% reliable. They correspond to a real experience lived by the teacher's students.

I worked with Alison on freshman intro to reasoning mathematics course. I was having difficulty and Alison patiently worked with me to determine the root causes of my mathematical confusion. I've had trouble with math before and have always felt it is too difficult to face the hard stuff.
Alison gave me the chance to use my current knowledge to think about the next step. That was very different from what I had always seen or had people do for me. They never took the time to make sure I was the one thinking and understanding each jump. It was refreshing.
After doing some remedial stuff I absolutely needed we caught up to the class and I was confident to finish the semester! I got a low B and I never passed a math course before! I am so excited and happy to recommend Alison because of this!
