About Katerina

Hello! I am Katerina and I am a second year Physics student at the University of St Andrews. I received my violin proficiency qualification in 2023 with a distinction in the Greek system equivalent to a first diploma in the UK. I have been a member of Camerata Junior Youth Orchestra in the Athens Concert Hall since 2015 and have toured around Greece multiple times. I have performed in orchestras, ensembles and as a soloist in Europe, having taken part in the AMC (Austrian Master Classes) numerous Summers. As a student in the University of St Andrews, I have been part of the University's Chamber Orchestra, performing in town and around Scotland. I have also taken part in multiple concerts with various music groups of the University as well as the River Tay Sinfonia in Dundee. I successfully completed a music performance module in my first year in St Andrews and achieved a First-Class grade.

About the lesson

I'm a new tutor offering violin lessons for beginners of all age groups. Whether starting out for fun or preparing for an exam, I aim to help students build strong foundations in technique from the beginning, setting them up for long-term progress. At the same time, the process should be kept fun, relaxed, and tailored to each student's pace, needs and goals. Learning the violin should be both structured and rewarding, leaving space to explore and enjoy making music!
