About Nur Qistina

I am currently pursuing my degree in Industrial Biotechnology in Universiti Malaysia Pahang. My main study is collectively about Pure Science but English is my main passion. My experiences in tutoring students are not plenty but I used to be one of the mentors for Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry when I was in matriculation. One of my peers succeeded in improving his Chemistry grade, from F to C. As for English languange, I am the one who will check the assignments based on grammar, spelling, and mechanisms of writing. Personally, I teach my younger siblings myself, helping them with their homeworks and revisions in any subjects.

I grown up alongside with English as much as I can remember although English is not the main language spoken in my household. The reason why I want to teach, especially English language because I want to prepare the students for the next phase of their life. Struggling with foreign language is definitely not a comfortable experience hence, I would like to offer my time and own experiences in learning English language.

About the lesson

My techniques in teaching young kids will include encouraging them to communicate in English when asking the questions so that I can directly correct their pronounciations. I also will show them how to use the dictionary so that they can use it during completing the homeworks and tasks given. To avoid stress and fear of learning something new, I will insert a few of teaching tools such as animation videos and children story books so that the students can enjoy their learning process.

For lower primary students, I will introduce them to simple names of objects, colours, places, and etc. They will learn how to pronounce, spell, and use them correctly in a sentence. Teaching them common greetings and easy sentences that they can use to communicate with parents and friends in their daily life.

For upper primary students, I will polish their grammars and spellings in essays, teach them about merit words to use in their sentences so that they can get extra marks in the exam. I will help to strengthen their basic in writing to produce a good quality essay.
