About Stacey
I have a Masters degree in English with a concentration in rhetoric and composition. I have worked as a post-secondary English teacher, tutor, home educator, and learning centre teacher. I have also worked as a professional writing consultant for businesses, municipalities, and non-profits, and this experience has taught me the fundamental importance of writing in any workplace context. In the classroom, my writing projects in the business world inform a lot of how I approach my students: I want them to have skills not just for a classroom, but for the rest of their lives.

I believe that writing is the most important subject that I can teach my students. It is fundamental to success in most careers and a mastery of the fundamentals will allow students to present any topic with confidence and substance.
My lessons are more classical in approach. This means we will look at three areas in particular to help build your skills: content, arrangement (organization) and style. All of this will be used to support your thesis statement for a persuasive paper. There are other genres that we will look at as well, including expository, narrative, descriptive, but the persuasive essay is the most difficult.
