About Rafaela
Hello! I am a professional artist, educator and art mediator. I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Painting. I have experience working in museums and art academies developing educational art activities for different ages and audiences. I also have experience as an art teacher in elementary schools.
I work daily in oil painting, oil pastel, graphite drawing, charcoal and indian ink. I also have a lot of experience in other materials, such as acrylic, gouache and watercolor.
I really enjoy helping my students to develop their own voice through artistic expression. I see in visual arts a tool to communicate our ideas and emotions to the world, and also to understand ourselves better.

My teaching method is adapted to the needs of each student. I am able to teach:
- Observation drawing / painting, for those who want to develop their technique;
and / or
- Expressive drawing / painting, for students who wish to capture their imagination and ideas.
I seek to better understand the student and his or hers artistic objectives, in order to shape the contents of the classes to what the student wishes to achieve, for example:
- learn observational drawing,
- have a recreational and relaxing activity,
- provide a fun activity for the kids,
- create an illustrated book,
- explore an artistic career,
- ... and so many others!
I aim to always enrich the student's artistic knowledge, exploring his or her tastes, interests and passions. This way, I can provide references that are inside the student's interests and to aid him/her expressing his/her own voice: other artists, movies, books, etc.
I am very happy to work with children, young people, adults and seniors, with any degree of artistic experience.
