About Bernard

I started my academic journey as a chemistry and mathematics undergraduate major, and then went on to graduate school for chemical physics, but I got very interested in statistics and started a career in gaming that lasted more than 20 years.

Along the way I earned my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, became a math and science teacher, and started tutoring students who needed help with math, science, and test prep. I have lots of experience helping students with a wide range of subjects and classes - and I can help you too!

About the lesson

I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to helping my students. I like to start by finding out about my student, what their needs are, and what they have found most difficult to learn. I will then work with them to design a plan of attack - should I teach lessons? Or should we work through difficult problems together? It can be a combination of many techniques - my goal is to help the student where they are at, and lead them to where they need to be.
