About Teagan
When I was in elementary school, I struggled with math, specifically multiplication. Luckily, my mother and grandfather helped tutor me and I was able to work my way up to being in advanced math groups from middle school onward. I went from failing every times table quiz to consistently getting 100% on my math tests. In high school, I tutored young, primary school-aged children who were struggling with foundational mathematical skills such as subtraction and division. I also helped children who were ahead of the rest of their class get the enrichment they needed by teaching them more complicated concepts such as algebra and geometry. In university, I have taken multiple mathematics courses which have further advanced my skills in data and statistics. I have also taken a class on data in practice and would be sure to encourage children to be passionate about the importance of math.

A typical lesson can be quite flexible depending on the student's needs. If there is confusion surrounding mathematical concepts, a lesson can be taught for clarity which can be accompanied by practice questions which we can work out together as well as individual work. If the student needs assistance completing schoolwork, I can also help with making sure that they are actually learning rather than just completing the work. I will provide additional questions/lessons. I can also help with test and quiz preparation and studying techniques for math including drills and formula memorization. If students are looking to get ahead, I can teach them new concepts building off of the knowledge that they already have and provide lesson plans that will help them acquire the skills ahead of being taught at school.
