About Nuha
As someone who is studying public health in graduate school, I work heavily with algebra concepts, civics, and essay writing. My dedication to helping students comes from supporting my classmates with their assignments and hosting study sessions where we focus on a mastery of the key concepts involved. For a year, I worked primarily in grades K-8 classrooms as a classroom aide, supporting students with a variety of subjects, and providing learning aids to focus on concept mastery.

My approach to the learning process is to build the student's muscle memory. I will start the session by walking the student through key concepts needed to solve a math problem and having them participate in an interactive process where I ask them to explain the concept to me in their own words. Depending on the Algebra 1 topic, I ensure mastery of these topics through describing real-life connections and/or coming up with a catchy song to help remember the concept at hand.
Once the student has demonstrated sufficient mastery of the material, I will then have them walk through each math problem by having them explain what concepts would be helpful to know for the solution and how it applies to the problem (keywords, etc.). Building a conceptual understanding of key principles eases the comfort of solving complex problems and not overthink each step of a math problem. My approach to learning is kinesthetic and uses positive reinforcement to build self-confidence in math.
