About Jia Jet

Hi! My name is Jia Jet. I am a qualified lawyer in Malaysia and a Barrister of England and Wales. While my professional background is in law, I have always enjoyed teaching, explaining concepts and helping others understand things that they initially find difficult.

My interest in teaching began during my secondary school years, when I regularly helped my junior students and classmates with their studies. I also had the opportunity to teach and assist my younger siblings with their primary school work. These experiences taught me that every student learns differently, and that patience, clear communication and encouragement are just as important as knowing the subject itself.

My teaching approach is patient, interactive and student-focused. I like to break difficult topics into smaller and simpler parts, use practical examples to make lessons easier to understand, and encourage students to ask questions without feeling afraid of making mistakes. I also believe in practicing what has been taught and providing constructive feedback so that students can gradually improve.

I am comfortable teaching English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mathematics, History and Law, and I can communicate in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin. I am happy to teach primary and secondary school students, as well as university students who require assistance with law or related subjects.

As a tutor, my goal is not simply to help students obtain better grades. I want to help them understand what they are learning, become more confident in themselves and develop better learning habits. I hope to create a comfortable and positive learning environment where students feel supported and motivated to do their best.

About the lesson

I use a patient and student-focused teaching approach, combining simple explanations, interactive learning and practice with constructive feedback. I break down difficult concepts into smaller, easy-to-understand parts and use practical examples to help students understand rather than simply memorize. I encourage students to ask questions and participate actively, while using exercises and practice questions to identify areas where they need improvement. My typical lesson is 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the student's age, level and learning needs. I am a qualified lawyer in Malaysia and a Barrister of England and Wales, with previous experience teaching and assisting my junior students, classmates and younger siblings with their studies. I am comfortable teaching English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mathematics, History and Law, and can communicate in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin. My lessons are suitable for primary and secondary school students, as well as university students studying law or related subjects. I aim to create a comfortable learning environment where students can build their understanding, confidence and independent learning skills.
