About Nosphetho

I am a Qualified Mathematics Teacher. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, with Mathematics as my specialisation subject. I have worked as a Maths teacher for 2 years. I am currently working towards a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics.

As you can probably tell, I’m a little obsessed with Math. I love teaching it and I love practicing it as well.

I like to believe that most people can learn Mathematics if teaching instructions are specifically designed for them. We all learn differently. It can be discouraging not to immediately understand something when you hear about it in class —I’ve been there(side eyeing, Chemistry…) ,and as much as I love Mathematics, I understand that it is not the easiest for all of us, so I am willing to help anyone who wants to understand it, not using a one-size-fits-all approach ,but by analysing how they learn and using strategies that I think would suit them.

About the lesson

All lessons will be held online via a video conferencing platform( Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams or WhatsApp) but each lesson will be different to suit your needs.

General Mathematics Tutoring
•Firstly, you tell me the topic of the day, I’d prefer you do this before the lesson so I can prepare better.
•We go through what you already know about the topic, it’s okay if you don’t understand it, completely.
•We go over the topic —I can start teaching from scratch or continue from where you’re stuck depending on your needs.
•Do a few practice questions. I’ll usually do the first one to demonstrate how to answer/solve it. Then I’d give you a few to do yourself and then we go through your answers/solutions.
•I’ll re-explain if there’s anything you don’t understand.
•I’ll then help with any homework/assignment that you may have.
*You can ask questions at any point during the lesson.

Homework/ Assignment help
•I’d prefer you send me the questions beforehand so I have time to work on the answers to avoid errors.
•I would also prefer to help you answer the questions before giving you the answers but, I completely understand if you only need the answers/solutions.

Questions on a topic
• We will work through any questions you may have until you understand the concept or how to answer similar questions.
