About Divya

I graduated from university with a degree in Business and Mathematics and am now a fully qualified maths teacher. I have a lifelong passion for maths, having started tutoring other students in the subject since I was 14, which has given me years of experience in explaining concepts clearly and helping students build confidence. My lessons are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual needs, whether it’s mastering tricky topics, improving exam technique, or preparing for GCSE exams. I am committed to creating a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and progressing at their own pace. Parents and students can expect a tutor who not only understands the curriculum inside out but also knows how to make maths engaging, accessible, and achievable, helping students reach their goals and enjoy the subject along the way.

About the lesson

I provide structured, supportive, and engaging online GCSE Maths lessons that help students build confidence, strengthen understanding, and improve exam performance.

As a qualified maths teacher with experience teaching both Foundation and Higher levels, I tailor lessons to each student’s individual needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

I begin with a short diagnostic or recap to identify areas for improvement, then focus on a topic using clear explanations, worked examples, and guided practice. Students are encouraged to explain their reasoning, develop problem-solving skills, and practise exam-style questions, with regular reference to mark schemes to maximise performance.

Lessons are 50-60 minutes long, giving enough time to cover concepts thoroughly and practise questions, and I may set short tasks between lessons to reinforce learning.

My lessons are suitable for GCSE students aged 14–16, whether they need help with specific topics, overall exam preparation, or building confidence in maths.
