About Taylor-jeigh

I am a qualified teacher, and I have taught in all year groups from Early Years up to Year 6. I am trained in all primary subjects, and I use a wide range of strategies to suit every student. I have been private tutoring Music and Singing lessons for over 3 years, including online during the pandemic alongside running a full time year 4 class. My aim is to help children expand their knowledge or provide catch up support in other areas of the curriculum including Maths, English, Reading and Phonics.

About the lesson

My teaching methods include approaching subjects kinaesthetically. I believe that most children learn through the use of visual and practical work. I have a wide range of resources, and aim to tailor these approaches and adapt them to the needs of each individual student.

It was a real pleasure to meet Ella May. She seems like a really lovely young lady, and is obviously very polite and engaged. I can see she has a very good reading level age considering her circumstances. She is most definitely what I would consider a free reader. We read a small section of George's Marvellous Medicine - by Roald Dahl. She read beautifully. There were a few words she found tricky, but knows how to decode which is great. I asked a few inference and retrieval based questions which she happily answered. We discussed alliteration today, which is a term Ella was unsure of, but after explaining she picked this out of the text. I was really impressed with Ella's knowledge and look forward to seeing her again soon.
