About Tabitha

Hi, I'm Tabitha! I'm a qualified primary teacher who has recently completed my PGCE, with a particular passion for helping children build confidence in their learning.

During my teacher training, I gained experience across both KS1 and KS2, including extensive experience teaching Year 1. I really enjoy working with children and finding different ways to make learning feel accessible, engaging and enjoyable.

When it comes to maths, I believe children learn best when they can actually *see, touch and explore* mathematical ideas rather than simply memorising methods. I therefore like to use concrete resources, visual representations and practical activities alongside more traditional written work. This can be particularly helpful for children who may feel unsure or lack confidence in maths.

I can support children from the early years through to Year 6, including children preparing for their SATs. Whether your child needs help developing their mathematical foundations, catching up on a particular topic, preparing for an upcoming assessment, or simply becoming more confident with maths, I will tailor lessons to their individual needs.

I'm a warm, patient and encouraging teacher, and I want every child to feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions and having a go. My aim isn't just to help children get the right answer, but to help them understand why.

About the lesson

I offer personalised maths tuition for children from the early years through to Year 6, adapting each lesson to suit your child's age, confidence and individual needs.

I can support with:

Early Years & KS1: number recognition, counting, subitising, addition and subtraction, shapes, patterns and developing mathematical confidence.
KS2: multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, problem solving, reasoning and filling gaps in understanding.
SATs preparation: targeted support with arithmetic, reasoning and building confidence with SATs-style questions.
Building strong foundations: using concrete materials, visual resources and practical activities to help children understand why maths works, rather than simply memorising methods.

Lessons are relaxed, encouraging and tailored to your child's current level. My aim is to make maths feel less intimidating and help children develop the confidence to have a go, make mistakes and keep trying.
