About Madison

I’m a Ph.D. candidate in Physics at Stanford University, specializing in quantum thermodynamics, and have six years of tutoring experience in the Bay Area. My research at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory taught me to distill frontier science into comprehensible lessons. I hold a California Physics Teaching Credential and offer weekday afternoons and weekend intensives. Outside academia, I volunteer at the Exploratorium, orchestrating hands-on Physics demonstrations for children and families.

In my Physics sessions, we navigate classical mechanics, delve into Thermodynamics (entropy, free energy, statistical ensembles), and tackle introductory Quantum Mechanics (wave functions, operator formalism). We augment each concept with Astrophysics vignettes—stellar evolution, orbital mechanics—and leverage Python to run quantitative simulations (e.g., fitting exoplanet orbital data). Interactive modules (PhET) provide vivid visualizations of thermal and quantum phenomena. Problem sets emulate AP, IB, and undergraduate exam rigor, ensuring mastery of both conceptual frameworks and numerical techniques.
