About Ziyan (Zi)

As a tutor, dancer and choreographer with about 10 years' experiences in dance, dance choreography and teaching, Ms.Zi (Violet) strives to nurture interest, creativity and make music and movement learning fun and creative for students. She will guide and encourage the students to read the song lyrics and express themselves creatively through music and movement. Ready-to-print song lyrics handouts will be prepared for students. Ms. Zi (Violet) encourages learners to develop their expressive and creative skills by expressing themselves through imaginative and creative movements. She provides constructive feedback, and guides them through to support continuous improvement. Besides working as a dance tutor, she is actively contributing to the industry of children education by designing, creating and producing dance along videos for children. Also, she is committed to inspire learners to create their own music and movement choreography and cover videos.

About the lesson

Key Features: This beginner course is designed for learners from age 5 and above. Private (1 to 1) or group class (2 to 4 students) can be arranged. Classes are inclusive and open to students with special needs, learning and physical disabilities. Fun and engaging learning via music and movement videos, role-play, etc. Besides developing physical movement and dance skills, these classes serve as supporting and reinforcement learning activity to improve language skills of children, such as English, Chinese, and sign language.

Learning Outcomes: Class dance videos will be recorded and created after the student learned to sing and dance to a song. For adult learners, they are encouraged to create their own YouTube channel and upload their own dance performance videos as homework submission. All dance videos created and submitted will then be reviewed and feedback will be provided to the student.

Class Format and Schedule: Monthly, there will be either 4 classes (1 class/week) or 2 classes (1 class/fortnight) depending on your availability. Each class is about 45 minutes, focuses on music and hand dance, in which students will learn to choreograph or dance to either Chinese or English songs. These are all discussable on which songs and dances that you want to learn in our free first trial lesson (45 mins). The first free 45-minute free trial lesson provides an opportunity to discuss learner's interests, needs and goals, and to tailor the lesson focus accordingly.

Flexibility and Support: Replacement classes can be arranged in case of illness or emergencies affecting either the teacher or the student. If the student or teacher will be away on holiday, classes can be canceled and fees refunded accordingly.
