About Joseph

I began my literary career as a poet, starting to publish and win awards for my creative writing around early high school. As I got older, I began participating in different programming and working with different instructors that shaped my creative practice and artistic eye today. Some poets I've worked with include Poet Laureates, Pulitzer Prize winners, and Ivy League literary critics.

I graduated last December from Harvard University with my Bachelors in English (with honors). There, I studied literature and language in many approaches, from the theoretical structure of stories to the technicals of linguistic syntax. Using all these principles learned in the classroom, I created my senior thesis, a full-length poetry collection that was awarded High Honors. I also have academic experience in Art History, Government, and Education Policy.

In addition to my academic work, I've worked diligently as a corporate professional, building a career in marketing and brand strategy. I've worked with different companies and brands, from consumer packaged goods to technology startups to nonprofit organizations, I've worked with executives to refresh and solidify their brand's presence and voice.

I now seek to work with clients aspiring to modernize and improve their writing and communication skills in either academic or corporate spaces. With an intersectional approach, using literary, linguistic, and rhetorical principles, I'll help you strengthen your voice and help you achieve your goals.

About the lesson

I take a multi-faceted approach to communications and composition skills and strategy, tailored specially for each client. I work with students and professionals of all ages, from high school test preparation to college applications to academic essay writing.

Together, we'll develop a plan around your writing process, as well as guidelines and practices for how to employ your own specific and strong voice and tone. Whether you're branding yourself as an applicant to a program or school, or a student looking to bolster your Language Arts grade, I can help you reach your writing goals with style and personality.

I treat each client as their own brand and entity. With my experience in corporate brand strategy, I consider your writing a product of your curated presence. With audience and goals in mind, we'll create well-written and well-crafted rhetoric in a style and process that you can repeat and use independently and forever.
