About Ella
I am a recent graduate in Sociology with Social Psychology. I have taught individually and in groups to primary school children, and to secondary school students up to the ages of 15 in their personal maths curriculum. The ability of the students ranged from very confident mathematicians looking to expand past their curriculum to students who wanted to build on their base skills in a safe and engaging environment. I also have five years experience working at a summer camp for children ages 4-16 so I am very comfortable engaging with and teaching a broad range of children.

My teaching methodology depends on the student. The most effective method in my experience is working through individual questions to highlight exactly where individual weaknesses are, whether that be in methodology or technique. I strongly believe that to be good at maths requires practicing and being confident in key techniques, after which it is no longer overwhelming and the skills can be built upon further. Through logically approaching the questions and breaking them down step by step it will build the confidence of the student to the point they are able to asses the questions independently and accurately, which would be the ultimate goal. My approach is to guide the student and work through problems together, and to slowly allow them to become more independent.
