About Gizem

Hi there! I'm passionate about helping people just like you find deeper connections and communicate more effectively, not because it's my job, but because I truly believe in the incredible power of great relationships and clear communication to change lives. My journey into coaching started from a simple, personal discovery: when we talk and, more importantly, listen to each other in the right ways, amazing things happen. We understand each other better, we resolve conflicts more easily, and we just feel more connected and happier. I've been there myself, working through communication hurdles and learning how to open up, and I've seen the difference it can make. What drives me every day is the chance to share these lightbulb moments with others. There's nothing quite like the buzz of seeing someone "get it" – when they find the words they've been looking for, or they see their partner's perspective in a whole new light. It's about those small wins in our conversations that lead to big changes in our lives. I'm here to guide you through the ups and downs of relationships and communication. Think of me as your go-to for all things related to chatting, listening, and connecting better with the people in your life. Whether you're trying to navigate a tricky conversation, looking to feel more understood, or wanting to bring more warmth and closeness into your relationships, I've got your back. About the lesson

I use the methods listed below. Each of these methodologies and techniques will be tailored to the specific needs and situations of my mentee. I often integrate elements from multiple approaches to provide the most effective support for their clients' communication and relationship goals. 1. Nonviolent Communication (NVC) Developed by Marshall Rosenberg, Nonviolent Communication focuses on compassionate and empathetic dialogue. It encourages individuals to express their needs and feelings without blame or criticism and to listen empathetically. NVC is structured around four components: Observations, Feelings, Needs, and Requests. This approach helps in resolving conflicts, building understanding, and fostering deeper connections between individuals. 2. Active Listening Active Listening involves fully concentrating, understanding, responding, and then remembering what is being said. It's more than just hearing; it's about understanding the message, providing feedback that indicates comprehension, and fostering trust and rapport. Techniques include paraphrasing, reflecting feelings, and asking open-ended questions to encourage deeper exploration of thoughts and feelings. 3. Emotional Intelligence (EI) Emotional Intelligence is the ability to understand and manage one's own emotions, as well as recognise and influence the emotions of others. Coaching around EI may involve helping clients to become more aware of their emotional responses, understanding the triggers behind these emotions, and learning how to manage them effectively to improve communication and relationships. 4. Cognitive Behavioural Techniques (CBT) While traditionally used in therapeutic settings, some elements of CBT can be applied in coaching to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns that affect their communication and relationships. By addressing these cognitive distortions, clients can develop more positive and effective ways of interacting with others. 5. Appreciative Inquiry (AI) Appreciative Inquiry is a strengths-based approach that focuses on exploring and amplifying what works well in a relationship or system, rather than solely focusing on problems. By identifying and leveraging strengths, clients can envision a preferred future and develop strategies to achieve it, enhancing their communication and relationship dynamics in the process. 6. Gottman Method (For Couples) Developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, this method is specific to couples and is based on the Sound Relationship House Theory. It emphasises the importance of building friendship, managing conflict, and creating shared meaning within relationships. Coaches may use techniques from this method to help couples improve their communication, deepen their understanding of each other, and resolve conflicts more effectively. 7. Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Techniques This approach involves focusing on what clients want to achieve rather than on the problems that made them seek help. Techniques from SFBT that can be applied in coaching include setting clear, concise, and realistic goals, and helping clients identify resources and past successes that can be leveraged to achieve their desired outcomes.

I was quite unsure about a few things and lacked confidence in learning Rhino when I first started my master's programme; however, with Gizem's guidance, I have never felt as confident as I do now.
