About Maria

My name is Maria, and I am an aspiring physician with a passion for biology, medicine, and scientific research. I am currently a student at Wilson Central High School and have pursued opportunities that allow me to explore the life sciences beyond the classroom.

My academic interests have led me to participate in the Rosetta Institute Biomedical Research Program, where I study advanced topics including cancer biology, molecular biology, and biomedical research. I am also actively involved in HOSA and qualified for the Tennessee HOSA State Leadership Conference, experiences that have strengthened both my scientific knowledge and leadership skills.

I am passionate about lifelong learning and enjoy exploring emerging medical discoveries, genetics, and the ways research can improve human health. Through rigorous coursework, leadership involvement, and research experiences, I have developed a strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to academic excellence.

My long-term goal is to pursue a career in medicine, combining patient care with scientific discovery to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.

About the lesson

Science is not about memorizing facts—it is about understanding the systems and processes that shape life itself. My lessons are designed to help students develop both confidence and a genuine understanding of biology, anatomy, cell biology, and physiology.

Drawing from my experience in advanced science coursework, biomedical research, and healthcare-focused leadership programs, I connect classroom material to real-world applications in medicine, genetics, and human health. This approach helps students move beyond memorization and develop critical thinking skills that support long-term academic success.

As a current student, I understand the challenges that many learners face because I have recently mastered much of the same material myself. My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and reaching their full academic potential.
